Ecofeminist Week

21 May 2023 - 28 May 2023

Join the circle, dear ones, for a week of embodied ecofeminism. Reconnect with nature, as nature. Reclaim feminine ways of gathering, working, and living in partnership with the Earth and each other.

During our week at The Quinta Project we will create a temporary community where each one is responsible for the whole and all will contribute to the shape, content, and outcome of our time together. Using the triple goddess model of Maiden, Mother, Crone as a way to organize the passing of time we will move through three phases with accompanying thematic activities and discussions. If you’re not already familiar with these archetypes, don’t worry. Consider them a framework.

We will use the first days to become familiar with each other,  the land, and to co-create a container for our time together. We will connect with the spirit of the Maiden exploring new beginnings, playfulness, and creativity as our themes. After this comes the Mother archetype and the themes of nurturing, fulfilment, abundance, contribution, growth, and attainment of knowledge. As we will have had time to observe what might be needed around The Quinta, we will now organize ourselves to address the immediate needs of the land, infrastructure, or other chosen area. Finally, we will steep ourselves in the magical space of the Crone, a place of deep spiritual connection with nature, of exploring our role as elder, of letting go and transmutation.

When applying for a place please indicate how you might contribute to the shape, content, or outcome for the week. Do you have an activity that you’d love to lead that ties in with one of the phases/themes? Do you have a special skill that you could offer? Is there a way in which you can support the group?

Need help getting started? Here are some examples from other gatherings:

-thematic discussion with journaling prompts for self-reflection

-guided walk with native plant identification and discussion of medicinal uses

-”Mirror Walk” from Joanna Macy’s “The Work That Reconnects”

This week we will be prioritizing applicants who identify as FLINTA (female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender).
